about
I have an ever-growing love for design and the constant need to expand my knowledge in all ways possible. My background in graphic design and web design and development grew from a love for art and technology and trying to find a way to combine both of those passions.
I’m a graduate from the University of Lethbridge receiving a B.F.A in New Media. Throughout this program I focused my studies on graphic design and web design and development. This allowed me to gain a well rounded set of skills in these two areas.
To maintain my love for design outside of what I have studied, I often fill my time with drawing, researching fashion, beauty, architecture. Along side this I work freelance as a graphic designer.
Inspired
My area of work and on going study is in graphic design, which originally grew from a way for me to combine two of my passions: art and technology.
I thrive when it comes to the pursuits of my passions, and desire to bring my passion, commitment and knowledge to a team that is striving to push art and technology forward together. I’m especially interested in working with creators and developers who are innovators in graphic and web design and development, e-commerce, branding and document design/processes.
My design style is definitely inspired and influenced by the works of people past and present. As a research junkie, I find myself constantly discovering new places, people and things to be inspired by. Currently some of my larger influences have come from artists and designers such as: Christian Dior - fashion icon and revolutionary. Keith Haring - New York pop artist. Piet Mondrian - Dutch painter, most commonly known for his works Tableau I and Composition II in Red, Blue and Yellow. These artists have influenced my design style, which is crisp, clean and modern. I love simplicity, and these artists bring their own level and take on simplicity to their works. I draw inspiration from books, architecture, fashion and the constant cycle of creation the internet produces. There is not a day that goes by that I am not inspired by the beauty that is at our fingertips.
